Southwest Technology Center proudly celebrates the achievements of its Powerplant class of 2025, recognizing students for their dedication, excellence, and perseverance in aviation maintenance.
The prestigious Student of the Year award was presented to Kaden Johnson, recognizing his outstanding leadership, technical skills, and commitment to excellence in the Powerplant program.
Three students earned the distinguished Ace Award for achieving a perfect 100% score on the FAA Powerplant competency exam—an outstanding accomplishment that reflects their mastery of the curriculum. Jonathan Jaime, Zane Hickerson, and Montassar Azizi received this recognition for their exceptional performance.
Demonstrating unwavering dedication, four students achieved 100% attendance throughout the program: Ethan Brewster, Mason Linares, Ashton Wetsel, and Joseph Basaldua. Their commitment to their education sets a strong foundation for success in the aviation industry.
“These students have worked incredibly hard to develop the technical skills and knowledge required for a successful career in aviation maintenance,” said Joe Schmitt, Powerplant Instructor at Southwest Tech. “Their achievements are a testament to their dedication and the high standards of our program.”
