Food Drive 2025

Each spring, Southwest Tech programs go head-to-head in a friendly competition to see which class can collect the most food for our annual campus-wide food drive. This initiative, led by Student Services and Director Christie Rogers, helps ensure children in our district have enough to eat over spring break.

This year’s winning program? 🏆 Practical Nursing! 🏆 Our dedicated nursing students came together to contribute the most food items, earning them the title of Food Drive Champions! 👏

With the generosity and hard work of our students, staff, and community, we were able to fill and distribute 175 backpacks full of snacks and non-perishable food items to school counselors in the district. These backpacks go directly to students who may otherwise struggle with food insecurity when school is out.

💬 “This food drive is so much more than a competition—it’s a way for us to make a real impact on the lives of local children,” said Christie Rogers, Director of Student Services. “Our Southwest Tech family continues to step up each year, and we are so proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated and participated—your kindness and generosity are making a difference in the lives of kids in our community! ❤️
