Group of Leaders

Southwest Technology Center hosted the Southwest Oklahoma Area Superintendents meeting today, bringing together local education leaders for a productive roundtable discussion with Oklahoma Senator Brent Howard and State Representative Gerrid Kendrix.

During the meeting, Senator Howard and Representative Kendrix shared updates on legislative priorities and upcoming discussions for the 2026 Legislative Session, which convenes in February. The conversation centered around key topics impacting public education, including end-of-year testing requirements, funding considerations, and challenges faced by local school districts.

Superintendents from across the region had the opportunity to engage directly with the legislators, voicing their concerns and ideas to help strengthen education in Southwest Oklahoma.

“Hosting open discussions like this allows our educational leaders and legislators to work collaboratively toward solutions that benefit students, educators, and communities across the state,” said Dale Latham, Southwest Tech Superintendent.

Southwest Technology Center is proud to provide a platform for collaboration and communication among local school leaders and state policymakers.
