To the Southwest Technology Center Community,

After much reflection and thoughtful consideration, I have made the decision to retire as Superintendent and CEO of Southwest Technology Center, effective June 30, 2026.

This was not an easy decision. Southwest Tech has been more than a place of work for me. It has been a family, a purpose, and a source of great pride. Serving this district and the communities of Southwest Oklahoma has truly been one of the greatest honors of my career.

I have always believed that leadership is about people, and I have been incredibly fortunate to work alongside dedicated, talented, and caring professionals. The faculty, staff, administrators, board members, and community partners of Southwest Tech are what make this institution exceptional. Any success achieved during my tenure belongs to this team. I would not be where I am today without each of you.

I have often said that when the time came for me to retire, I wanted it to be at a moment when the school was strong and moving forward in a positive direction. I truly believe that Southwest Tech is in that place today. In many ways, it feels like standing at the end of a championship season, surrounded by a winning team and confident in what lies ahead.

As we prepare for this transition, the Southwest Technology Center Board of Education has partnered with the Oklahoma State School Boards Association to assist with the search for the district’s next Superintendent and CEO. OSSBA will guide the Board through a comprehensive search process that includes establishing a timeline, gathering input, recruiting candidates, and facilitating interviews.

A key part of this process is community involvement. The Board of Education and OSSBA are seeking input from district and community stakeholders to help identify the qualities and characteristics desired in the next superintendent. I strongly encourage you to take part in the anonymous survey and share your thoughts. Your voice matters, and your input will help shape the future of Southwest Technology Center. As I look toward this next chapter, my heart is filled with gratitude for the trust you placed in me, for the relationships built along the way, and for the shared commitment to students that defines this district. Southwest Tech will always hold a special place in my life, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving this remarkable institution and community.

With sincere appreciation,

Dale Latham
