Southwest Technology Center (SWTC) in Altus, Oklahoma, offers a hands-on Automotive Technology program designed to prepare students for in-demand careers in today’s evolving automotive industry. Led by experienced instructor Phil Bailey, the program emphasizes real-world skills, problem-solving, and industry-aligned training.
Students receive comprehensive instruction across all major automotive systems, including:
Automatic Transmission and Transaxle
Brakes
Wheel Alignment
Electrical and Electronic Systems
Engine Performance
Engine Repair
Heating and Air Conditioning
Manual Drivetrain and Axles
Suspension and Steering
Instruction is aligned with ASE industry standards, ensuring students graduate with the technical knowledge and hands-on experience employers expect.
The Automotive Technology program is designed with flexibility in mind to serve both adult learners and high school students. Adults may enroll in a full-time track, which can be completed in approximately one year, or a part-time option that allows students to balance work, family, and education. Classes are offered in morning and afternoon blocks to accommodate varying schedules. High school students may also enroll at no cost through their sending schools.
