BCT Teacher and Student

Southwest Technology Center in Altus, Oklahoma, offers a dynamic Business and Computer Technology program designed to prepare students for success in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven workplace. The program provides practical, hands-on training that equips students with essential skills applicable across a wide range of industries.

Led by instructor Aracely Gonzales, the program continues to evolve to meet workforce needs. A proud graduate of the Business and Computer Technology program herself, Gonzales brings real-world experience and a student-centered perspective to the classroom, guiding learners through both foundational and advanced business concepts.

This year, the program expanded its career pathways to include Financial Assistant and Legal Office Assistant majors, joining the established Social Media Marketing track. These additions allow students to tailor their education to specific career goals while gaining transferable skills in communication, organization, technology, and professionalism.

Students receive instruction in key business and computer applications, customer service practices, digital communication, and office management skills that align with employer expectations. Through hands-on projects and workplace simulations, students graduate prepared to enter administrative, financial, legal, and marketing-related roles.

The Business and Computer Technology program is designed to serve both adult learners and high school students. Flexible scheduling options make it possible for students to balance education with work and family responsibilities, while still gaining career-ready skills in a supportive learning environment.

High school students from area partner schools may enroll tuition-free during their junior and senior years, and adults are encouraged to apply. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
