LPN 2026

Southwest Technology Center’s Practical Nursing program is changing lives by preparing adult students to step confidently into the healthcare workforce as Licensed Practical Nurses. This intensive, one-year program blends classroom learning, simulation, and clinical practice to develop skilled, compassionate nurses ready to serve patients across Southwest Oklahoma.

From Classroom to Patient Care

Students move quickly from foundational nursing concepts into hands-on skill development and real clinical environments. Through lab practice and supervised clinical rotations, they learn to deliver safe patient care, administer medications, support care teams, and communicate effectively with patients and families. Graduates are prepared to enter hospitals, long-term care, clinics, and community healthcare settings immediately after licensure.

Training That Meets Workforce Needs

Approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, the program aligns with current healthcare standards and regional workforce demand. Southwest Tech maintains strong partnerships with local healthcare providers, giving students meaningful clinical experiences while helping address nursing shortages in the region.

A Team Committed to Student Success

Director Tyler Tims leads the program with a focus on quality instruction and career readiness. Instructors Candice McPherson and Blaine Jumper bring real-world nursing experience into the classroom and lab, mentoring students through the rigor of nursing education and into professional practice. Andrea Nichols supports applicants through each step of the enrollment process, helping adult learners begin or advance their healthcare careers.
