Southwest Technology Center recently welcomed students from the local homeschool community for their monthly field trip experience. This visit focused on the Health Science program, giving students a hands-on opportunity to connect what they’ve been learning about the human body with real-world health care skills.
During the visit, students participated in several fun and interactive activities. They explored human skeleton models, practiced CPR techniques, and even had the chance to experience what it’s like to ride in a wheelchair. Many students also brought their stuffed animals along so they could practice giving “shots,” applying splints, and learning basic patient care skills.
Experiences like this help bring classroom lessons to life while introducing young learners to the many exciting careers in health care.
