Southwest Technology Center recently hosted its annual Signing Day event, celebrating high school students from across Southwest Oklahoma who have committed to attending Southwest Tech during their junior and senior years.
During the event, 176 students officially signed their commitment to Southwest Tech, representing a portion of the more than 200 high school students who have committed for the 2026–2027 school year. Students and their families gathered to celebrate this exciting milestone and learn more about the opportunities available through Southwest Tech’s diverse programs.
Signing Day recognizes students who have chosen to invest in their futures through hands-on career training, technical education, and college preparatory pathways. At Southwest Tech, high school students can develop valuable skills, earn industry certifications, and explore career fields while still completing their high school education.
Programs available to high school students include Aviation Maintenance, Automotive Technology, Biomedical Sciences, Business and Computer Technology, Construction Trades, Cosmetology, Entrepreneurship, Graphic Design, Health Science, Metal Fabrication/Welding, Teacher Preparation, and the new Pre-Engineering program launching in 2026.
One of the most significant benefits for families is that high school students attend Southwest Tech tuition-free, allowing them to begin building career skills, college readiness, and industry credentials without the burden of college tuition costs.
“Signing Day is always an exciting time for Southwest Tech,” said Superintendent Dale Latham. “Seeing so many students commit to their future and take advantage of the opportunities available through CareerTech is inspiring. These students are preparing themselves for success whether they choose to enter the workforce, pursue higher education, or both.”
Southwest Tech serves students from partner school districts across Southwest Oklahoma and remains committed to providing programs that prepare students for both high-skill careers and continued education.
In addition to high school programs, adult enrollment is now open for individuals interested in starting a new career or advancing their skills. Prospective adult students can learn more and apply online at www.swtech.edu.
Southwest Technology Center continues its mission of Changing Lives One Career at a Time by equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to succeed in today’s workforce and beyond.
