Southwest Technology Center is kicking off the 2026–2027 school year by recognizing Andrea Nichols, Administrative Assistant who wears many hats at Southwest Tech, as the August Employee of the Month.
Nichols was selected for her willingness to step up wherever needed, her positive attitude, and her dedication to supporting both students and staff.
While helping welcome a new class of Practical Nursing students into the school year, Nichols also stepped back into the role of Insurance Coordinator without hesitation. Although several years had passed since she previously handled those responsibilities and many changes had taken place, Nichols embraced the additional duties with grace and determination.
Even with a growing list of responsibilities, Nichols continued to volunteer to help wherever needed, all while maintaining the friendly smile and positive attitude her coworkers have come to know and appreciate.
“Andrea is one of those employees who quietly works behind the scenes and simply gets things done,” said Ericka Wiginton, Superintendent of Southwest Technology Center. “No matter what is added to her plate, she continues to serve our students and staff with a smile. She is incredibly deserving of this recognition, and we are fortunate to have her as part of the Southwest Tech family.”
The Southwest Technology Center Employee of the Month program recognizes employees who demonstrate exceptional service, teamwork, professionalism, and commitment to the school and its students.
