Altus High School junior, Alexis Winters, recently placed first in the Educators Rising Children's Literature K-3rd state competition. Argo Moves to Earth is about an alien boy who moves from his home planet, Zadoff, to Earth. She wrote the book to let children know that although moving to a new place can be scary, it can be easy to overcome and that whether you're different or not, you are perfect just the way you are. Alexis will be represented Southwest Technology Center at the Educators Rising National Competition in Washington, D.C. on June 24-27.
