Three students in the Aviation program received $2,500 in tuition waiver scholarships from Southwest Technology Center today. The “Next Experience in Training” (NEXT) Scholarship program began four years ago after Superintendent/CEO, Dale Latham envisioned more opportunities in training for the youth of SW Oklahoma.

The NEXT Scholarship covers up to 1000 hours of tuition for students who are enrolled in a full-time program, meet the qualifications, and start prior to their 21st birthday. The applicants must have been awarded a high school diploma from an in-district, public, or home school in addition to maintaining a 2.5 GPA on their transcript.

This year’s NEXT Scholarship recipients are Devin Abbott, Joseph Goode, Jaydon Smith from the Aviation and Aerospace Technology program.

Latham said, “We are excited to award scholarships to these deserving young men who are furthering their education at Southwest Technology Center; and look forward to where their training takes them.”
