Southwest Tech Financial Aid and VA Coordinator, Monica Cox earned an Associates in Science-Business Administration from Western Oklahoma State College in December after starting college in 2021. Monica is a first generation college graduate and is described by her peers as determined, loyal and compassionate. Monica has been with the Southwest Tech family for 26 years after completing the Business and Computer Technology-Banking and Financial Services program at Southwest Tech in 1997. For the past 10 years Monica has served as the Financial Aid/VA Coordinator and states what she loves most about her job is working with students and giving them a good understanding of what financial aid is and what is available to them as they continue their education and achieve their career goals.
Monica is the loving wife of James and together they have 5 children. Monica is the Mimi to 8 grandchildren, the youngest which are twins. Monica enjoys watching sports with her husband and family. She also loves to garden, read good books and quilt. In the warmer months you can find Monica camping, fishing, sitting by the fire listening to music and dancing.
Since graduating from college, Monica is most looking forward to taking the semester off to enjoy her twin granddaughters and family while deciding her future plans.
