As February marks Career and Technology Education Month, we at Southwest Tech are excited to invite you to a special event celebrating the invaluable contributions of CTE to our community and beyond.
To commemorate this occasion, we're hosting a delicious hot dog lunch on Friday, February 23rd, and we cordially invite you to join us for a fun-filled celebration. Southwest Tech Team Aviation Power Plant,headed out to Altus AFB for tours today. These students are getting excited to be Graduating in a couple weeks and their time at Southwest Tech is winding down. Special Thanks goes out to Mr. Blake Pewo for setting this all up. Students toured all 3 aircraft and several back shops where many of them will be applying for employment.

Graphic Design students did The Valentines Challenge. They had to use all the same elements and fonts provided, they could omit elements but not add any. This exercise allows them to understand what it means to work with a client who has very specific criteria challenging students to think outside of the box! We hope our students loved ones enjoyed their cards made for them today!
Teacher Prep students begin internships. Throughout the 6-week internship, they will work alongside seasoned educators, gaining practical insights into classroom management, curriculum development, and student engagement. The Teacher Prep program not only fosters professional growth but also strengthens the bond between education theory and its real-world application.

Southwest Technology Center will be closed for daytime students on Monday, February 12, 2024 due to inclement weather. All faculty and staff will report at 11:00 a.m. for a work day. Evening classes will run as normal.

Our Cosmetology students brought home some hardware from the Regional SkillsUSA contest in Fort Cobb yesterday! Alison Nichols-1st place in nails, Tyreke Fleming-1st place Barbering and Irma Flores-3rd place Esthetics. Tyreke and Alison will head to the State contest in April!
