Students got a firsthand look at a variety of salon styles, vibes, and professional setups, gaining inspiration from talented stylists across our community. From modern color studios to classic-cut atmospheres, each stop offered something unique—and our future cosmetologists soaked it all in! ❤️ Huge thank-you to the salons who welcomed us and shared their industry insight. ✨Today our Cosmetology students took it back to the basics by painting the color wheel, starting with the three primary colors! 🎨 Understanding color theory is essential in our industry — it’s the foundation for hair color formulation, makeup matching, correcting unwanted tones, and creating balance in every look. Our Southwest Tech Graphic Design students put their skills and their hearts to work today 💚🎨 They spent the entire day volunteering with Hopefor22aday, a veteran founded nonprofit with an incredible mission rooted in compassion, service, and community. This organization was created after the loss of thirteen U.S. service members in Afghanistan and has grown into a powerful force for good , providing backpacks for homeless veterans, care packages for deployed troops, and support for military families. Our students helped bring awareness to this mission by assisting with packing care boxes and giving their time wherever it was needed. Their dedication made a meaningful impact, and we couldn’t be more proud of the difference they made today. Amazing work, Graphic Design! 👏💛 Small acts of service truly create big change.

Our Teacher Prep students spent Thursday at Cameron University participating in hands-on workshops and exploring campus life! 🎓✨ Students learned strategies for teaching to different learning styles, discovered opportunities through the Inspired to Teach Scholarship, and wrapped up the day with an engaging Q&A panel featuring current CU teacher education students who shared their experiences and advice.
