A recent story from CNN highlights a growing reality: the aviation industry is running out of the people who keep planes flying.
At Southwest Technology Center, we’re doing something about it. Our Aviation Maintenance Technology students are gaining hands-on experience, real-world skills, and industry knowledge that directly prepares them to step into these high-demand careers.
Aircraft don’t stay in the air without skilled professionals on the ground—and the next generation of aviation maintenance technicians is being trained right here.

👏 Carley Graham earned 2nd place in the PreK Division, with her book, “Sally Sander Sue and the Color Blue”. A book about learning from the colors and the world around us, and how sometimes it's okay to feel a little blue.
👏 Addy Gonzalez earned 3rd place in the K–3rd Grade Division, with her book, “The Kirby Sister’s Adventures”. A book about how important speaking up for yourself and others, even if sometimes it is hard.

The 1st-year PM Graphic Design students have been busy bringing their ideas to life! 🧁🎢
For this project, students created bakery brochures filled with delicious branding, tempting visuals, and thoughtfully designed layouts. From charming neighborhood bake shops to trendy dessert cafés, each concept was uniquely crafted.
But the creativity didn’t stop there! Some students took on theme park brochures for Wes World, designing bold, high-energy layouts packed with attractions, maps, and must-see highlights.
