Southwest Tech’s Metal Fabrication, Automotive, and Graphic Design students recently hit the road for the SkillsUSA Fall Conference, and it was a blast! They dove into hands-on workshops, picked up cool new skills, and got to connect with industry pros. Our Metal Fabrication and Business Computer students got hands-on with employability basics in a fun and insightful activity today!
💼 First, they each blew up a balloon and wrote down a soft skill that’s important to them—like communication, teamwork, or problem-solving. Then, they teamed up to keep those balloons volleying in the air while collecting them in a trash bag! 💪
But it wasn’t over yet… For the second round, we added a twist 🌊—a water balloon! This represented the external pressures we all face in the real world. The added weight showed our students how challenges can affect your ability to keep those essential skills strong. 💡
Through communication and teamwork, they learned that no matter what life throws your way, maintaining these soft skills is key to success in the workplace. 🔑
