👨‍🔧 This afternoon in Auto class, Larry stepped up to demonstrate how to properly patch a tire for his classmates. Hands-on learning moments like this not only build skills but also give students the chance to share their knowledge with one another. Great job, Larry! 👏

✈️ This week in Mr. Schroyer’s Aviation Maintenance class, students have been hard at work on the cockpit simulator for the Cessna 414 aircraft. Their focus has been on setting up and configuring the various systems to mirror real-world controls and instruments. From flight instruments and throttle controls to navigation systems and other key components, the simulator is being designed to provide a hands-on, realistic training experience.

The ultimate goal is to have the simulator fully functional, giving students the opportunity to practice and deepen their understanding of aircraft systems and flight procedures. It’s been both a challenging and rewarding process that’s helping prepare them for future success in aviation. 🚀

The PM Graphic Design crew has been hard at work creating double-page spreads that are as bold and creative as they are professional. From eye-catching layouts to carefully chosen images and typography, each spread tells its own story. After finishing their designs, students are mounting the pieces for display—turning their digital work into something everyone can see and appreciate. It’s a project that pushes their creativity while giving them a real taste of what designers do in the field.

Aviation maintenance students at Southwest Technology Center marked a major milestone this week as they successfully completed their fabric covering and stitching projects—an essential hands-on component of their training in aircraft restoration and maintenance.

The project, which is part of the Airframe curriculum, teaches students how to apply fabric coverings to aircraft control surfaces and fuselage structures, a skill still widely used in general aviation and vintage aircraft restoration. This week, students worked diligently to master the techniques of fabric selection, surface preparation, rib stitching, and applying finishing tapes and protective coatings.
